Pic shows my last three builds. The VM-02 is my second of that model, the first one was given away. The Ugears models are of the best quality and cost out there. I would recommend them to anyone you just can\'t go wrong.

This is my second build and I\'m happier with this build. The kits are first class, the value for the quality is great,I would recommend to all collectors. I\'ve ordered my third and fourth kits already and trying to figure out which one I want next.

Amazing puzzle and great fun. It also makes a great conversation starter and causes envy at the D n D or MTG table

It\'s a gorgeous box and lots of fun however some of the instructions for the lid mechanism were a little confusing-had to redo it but it works beautifully now

Absolutely amazing and beautiful piece. The instructions are expertly put together and this got me back into a love I had to give up because of a nre family edition. My only regret is the 9 is actually a 6

This was my first, but not my last, Ugears model. I took my time building this model and enjoyed the challenge! A couple of tools that I used helped make the project go easier are in the attached picture. The utility knife helped in the cuts but also helped with removing more delicate parts from the boards. By using the small bladed knife to cut the small attachment points removal from the boards was easier and less likely to break parts. From a hardware store, I purchased the small side cutter to provide cuts in small clearance areas and provide cuts close to the working area. The model performed very well when put into motion. Just recently purchased the Aero Clock for another project in the near future. The engineering on these products is OUTSTANDING.

When I opened the package, I was unsure of what to expect. Some parts of the build were relatively easy while other parts were very challenging. Even the tools needed to complete the project are made of wood! Getting the balloon to fall properly was somewhat difficult. Everything is working now though. I am impressed by the precision of the parts and that no glue (as in zero) is needed to build the clock. This was a great project and will provide enjoyment into the future. I highly recommend this project for someone with patience and model building experience.

Only about a third finished, instruction well define process. Complex but fun.

For people that are looking to get this for Magic the Gathering, like me, just know that one box can hold 80 sleeved cards. So for Commander you will have to get two boxes.As for the building. I am very new to doing crafts so getting the rubber band into a knot took me the lost amount of time. I had to watch a YouTube to understand how to get a knot with just one rubber band.Finally, while the picture instruction were good, it would have been nice to see a video of how to put it together. I THINK I put it together right, it looks like the one on the packaging and it opens and closes, so it does what it needs to do.

I was looking for something unique for the SIL and came across this website. I had to purchase one for my husband as well. They both loved putting it together and using it. Excellent quality! I can\'t decide which kit to purchase next. I want them all!

This was such an amazing build. I had tons of fun building it and look forward to possibly painting it. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and the parts were of top quality. I would highly recommend these 2 models.

I am legally blind and enjoy the wooden models. they are designed in a way that I can easily build them with little assistance.

I was randomly targeted by Facebook to purchase this product, and for literal weeks I would ignored it. Then one day I was looking for gift ideas, for myself of course, when yet another ad popped up. Finally curious enough, I made my way to their website, because who buys stuff through Facebook am I right? After seeing how many different models they had I had to have one of my own. I sent the link for the Model Marble Run Chain Hoist to my sister and told her it\'s what I wanted for our birthday, we\'re twins you see, and she made it happen. I just spent the most of today putting it together and I\'m having so much fun just watching the marbles do their thing. I can\'t wait to get the next 3 attachments!

I really enjoyed building this car. It took time and was challenging at times but overall the build turned out great. The shipping was quick and packed perfectly, the quality of wood was spot on, and the colored instructions make for an easier-to-follow guide than some of the others I have done in the past. I would highly recommend this product if you are patient and can follow the directions you should be good.

Let me start by saying that this is my first go at this type of model/puzzle and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered several puzzles from different companies at the same time and this one arrived first so the shipping was spot on.I was also impressed with the quality of the pieces, cuts, but most importantly the instructions. I recommend following them to a t and read through all pages before you start. This will get you the tools you need, the knowledge of the components and steps, but may also help you not miss steps like the rubber band around the tires, etc.There are some small parts with this particular model and I broke a few, however, the provided extras allowed me to continue as if nothing happened.I would highly recommend this build to anyone. However it can be challenging so beginners beware but can be accomplished with patience.

I have built several UGears kits and love them all but this kit has provided the most challenge. Of all of them, the Aero Clock provides long term interest and utility since it needs daily attention. To add to the challenge, I decided to paint this one (with Sharpie style flow pens) and I think that came out well. In 6 months now I have not tired of lifting the weight and playing with it to zero in its accuracy.

Good puzzle works well. Had issue only with putting the chain together.

Years ago I got an Addiator, still one of the best toys to learn addition and subtraction. This is a glorious step up, multiplication, even with squaring of a number.My granddaughter flew through the assembling, taking each part out by herself by slightly bending the entire sheet of strong, laser-cut wood to pop them out. I watched.In the box you get two different projects, one for addition/subtraction, the other for multiplication. A great product, ages 10 up.

This was only the second UGears model I\'ve ever built. The first was the VM-03 Roadster (shown in the picture in green) really had MUCH more complete and clearer instructions. It\'s almost as if they really babied you compared to this build where LOTS of things were left out. They went the extra step of showing you how to cut down the toothpicks and how many you needed etc etc in the Roadster instructions. In this model there really wasn\'t that much of that which was a little disappointing. Also, there were a few times in the instructions where they show a marking of a part for orientation purposes and then in another step the same marking is shown on the other side of the part. Another quibble I have is some parts are shown assembled out of order in different steps, this can be VERY confusing if you haven\'t reviewed the instructions carefully ahead of time. I was honestly quite shocked that at the end of the instruction booklet, where they show the functions, there was no mention of the hood opening with latch, or high and low speeds. I guess you\'re just supposed to know or figure it out??As you can see, I fully detailed my model inside and out. For areas that move I used Sharpie markers. But let me warn you, only black and metallic sharpies adequately cover the burned edges of the wood. I used wood stain for the floor of the cabin and the interior walls. Portions of the model that can be thickened like the entire outside and, for example the inside of the doors I used acrylic paint. I painted my model to look like Optimus Prime from the live action Transformers Movie! I did spend considerable amount of time detailing the interior only to realize once the model is assembled it\'s VERY difficult to see inside, glad I took lots of pics during assembly. That means that you probably don\'t have to be as meticulous as me since it won\'t be visible. I did add a fabric and pillow to the bed and light to the interior to help you see in there a little bit better. See my video with my truck in action here: https://youtu.be/Wt7ktLhwhKkTIPS for OTHER builders: -Liberally wax ALL parts that interact with each other, not just where the instructions show -ALL parts that rub against each other should be almost polished before applying the wax with a find sandpaper -Pay close attention to the orientation and order of assembly so that you don\'t need to disassemble anything -Don\'t be afraid to sand things so that it\'s not as difficult to press them together, it\'s better to use a little glue if needed than break a part -The trailer hitch mechanism should be retracted while working on the model. This was the only part I broke while working on the next step, since this is a LARGE lever arm and sticks waaaay out! -The wheel locking nuts are the most difficult part to assemble and you should use some wax, sand a bit if they are super tight and lastly, don\'t forget to support the axle when installing -As you can see, these models CAN be painted but be careful to only paint areas that won\'t be moving as this adds thickness to the partSee my video with my truck in action here: https://youtu.be/Wt7ktLhwhKk

This was my first UGears model, but it won’t be my last I’m hooked! The steampunk clock was easy and fun, and I love the finished product. Looking forward to a more challenging puzzle for my next attempt. If I could only decide which to choose!

It was more fun than I thought it would be to build. The sounds is ok, it will hold a G for a few days, and is easy to tune with a phone APP. Yes, I know it does not sound like a $1000 Hurdy Gurdy. I used Sharpie\'s for the color, very easy to do with no drying time needed. For waxing as shown in the instruction\'s, I used a Glade scented candle, it is softer and easier to work with than the included hard wax. I sanded most of the edges and darkened them with a brown Sharpie. No parts broke during assembly. This was for my wife, she already plays several instruments. I enjoyed building and playing it so much, I ordered a second one for myself. My best tip would be to read the instruction several times before starting.

Here's my completed model. Super nice I love it! My only issue is the rosin block was dried out and crumbled when I tried to apply it.

I bought 3 bikes. I will build all 3 and gift out 2. You really need to take your time on the guts of the bike. I’ve built 4 other models and wasn’t challenged like this one. The wax it comes with I believe is not good enough.Tried graphite, a white power lubricant its a no mess lubricant like graphite but still not so good. I haven’t tried it yet but a better wax I think. I would like to hear what others are doing or using to make their builds run smoothly

Got this for my wife and gave it to her for Valentine's Day. She was amazed with the gear operated drawers. I was not sure how well they would work, but with a few minor adjustments it works great.

Took my time coloring and building this Antique Box. My wife loves it.

I bought the train for myself and the tractor for my dad and we both loved the enough to bye two more! They are challenging and time consuming but rewarding as well. I had an order purchasing my second model and customer service was stellar!

Pretty awesome and fully functional. Level of difficulty was easy but still very enjoyable. This is the third Ugears model I have purchased so far and plan to get many more in the future. The whole family has been having alot of fun with this model in particular.

I used to make plastic models as a kid and loved it. On a whim I purchased the hurdy-gurdy kit to pass the time during Covid19. Making the instrument (it works!) was more fun than I thought it would be. I am a bit thick-fingered but there was no problem assembling the parts and there were lots of spares (I did not need them). It really felt great attaching the strings and actually tuning them. The best model I ever made.

This is my first attempt at a UGears model. My husband has done two before me. So I wanted to try one out. It took me awhile to understand the directions as I am a novice but enjoyed putting it together. I had some problems with the gears but finally got it to work right. I learned you have to pay attention to the small details or things won\'t fit right. I\'m going to give this to my granddaughter. I know she will love the two secret openings! I may buy two more to build for my other granddaughters. I\'m sure the next ones will be much easier for me!

Great kit, Very enjoyable to build! Everything fit perfect. My only suggestion is to use a little bit larger diameter toothpicks.

This was my first time doing anything like this. My family and I each got a different one for Christmas. We had so much fun! Highly recommend! Also the Deck Box is super cool! So I\'m sure with someone who is familiar with doing these sort of things it would not take as long. Lol!!

Let me start by saying I\'m a retired man who\'s addicted to laser cut wood models. Rokr, Wood Trick, Ugears and more. I\'ve built models of all skill levels. This model has lot of pieces but really isn\'t that hard to put together. However, there were some issues. First, the toothpicks Ugears provides are not at all made to the tolerances that the laser cut pieces demand. I\'ve found this in other Ugers models too, such as their Trimaran. The toothpicks in this case were WAY too fat. However, I\'ve purchased generic round toothpicks at the grocery store that fit perfectly! Fortunately I had these on hand. A nice feature in their instructions is that they show you where pieces are located on a sheet. Unfortunately, the illustrations are so small you\'ll often need a magnifying glass to read them. Also the sheet numbers were not clearly marked on the wood sheets. The drawings made it easy enough to figure out which sheet was needed for each step. As far as the functionality of the moving parts in this model, pieces moved as they should if you\'re careful during assembly. However they are not durable enough for much handling. The stress on some pieces of thin plywood is just to much....and yes I lubricated everything properly. Another feature that would be nice is a parts list. None is provided. They supply some spare pieces but there\'s no way to know what or where these pieces are. The sheets merely randomly put a + sign beside extra pieces. My box was also missing one of the rubber bands. One last comment...I stain all my models. Oil based stain is required. I stain a sheet at a time and just touch up pieces where required after assembly. They look so much nicer and more finished. This is my second UGears product... Last year my husband bought me the Marble Parkour kit and I loved it so much. I really wanted a Hurdy Gurdy and while \"real ones\" take great skill or cost a mint to own with out even knowing if I\'d like it this one made more sense. So he got me this as my gift this year and I was so excited I even gave it a little color before I began assembling to make it my own! I have a feeling this will now be a holiday tradition cause spending 5-6 hours after holiday madness nerding out on an intense craft project like this is so therapeutic and relaxing. I had so much fun building it and now I just need to teach myself to play it.

Picture directions were easy to follow with warnings to make sure pieces are facing the correct direction. Works very well. Fun to put together!

I have ordered many 3D wood products from wood gears and they all have been great. If you do have any problems they are great to work with. Highly recommend!

This is a very well done wooden construction kit. The design and function are very clean and interesting. I do have trouble with the rubber band motor construction because the bands have to fit so closely into the end pieces. They also have to be inserted very carefully so as to have the different rubber bands wind up with the same length from one end piece to the other. The gears and the gear supports must be carefully sanded and then lubed with the wax if the gears are going to work as designed. You must carefully study the instructions and follow them exactly or you will get in trouble as I did by installing one of the rear wheels backward, causing me to have to take it down and turn it around so that the wheel will stay clear of the other motion parts located behind the wheel. It is a great deal of fun and I get a lot of satisfaction from the model building. I built and flew many radio controlled models years ago and these models bring back all the fun I had then. I can recommend these models for someone who is patient, meticulous and willing to take the time needed to make a really great functioning model.

Great fun! Used two rubber bands for extra power. Clear and easy to follow instructions. Highly recommend. Enjoy.

This was a great experience and a joy to build. The front wheel assembly needed some troubleshooting. It took me 7 days of a little at a time. Very rewarding.Thank you UGEARS!

I was looking for a new thing to keep me busy during these stay at home days and I\'m so glad I found a add for Ugears models. I had a great time building this model. This was my first model I have built in over 50 years, so i took my time and it came out great. I enjoyed it so much, that I\'m starting to work on the V Express Steam Train.

This was really fun to build. I never build models but wanted something different for quarantine. This was cool to build and use. The instructions mention to use wax on moving parts. I didn’t do so and the model is still functional but I probably should have listened to the instructions. Everything was explained well for a novice; I will be ordering more.

I really enjoyed building this model! I’ve been big into plastic models and LEGO Technic for sometime now. This was my first UGears model and I have to say I enjoyed it better than anything. If you’re into this sort of thing I would highly recommend it. Really look forward to my next one... well done!!

Another beautiful design from Ugears. The concept is unique and eloquent. I made the mistake of not waxing my gears good enough. So I took it apart and re-waxed them and it moves very smoothly now. I colored it with markers and stain sticks. I think I got carried away with the colors a little bit. Sometimes less is more.

This worked well and made it a lot easier than using a brush. I also swapped out the fishing line strings with violin strings to improve the sound. Really nice model for playing tabletop games with family and friends. I assembled it with my son, and it is really satisfying to see it work!

I love it. just love it. This was the first model I purchased, and I fell in love with UGEAR toys since then. They are well designed. Lots of fun to build and play with.BTW, highly recommended to use sand paper to smooth the moving parts.

I was very satisfied with the instructions, the quality of the kit, and the end result. The build itself was a very satisfying experience. The only frustrating part for me was trying the knots so they match the booklet. I ended up giving up on them being identical to the picture and moved on to the next stage.I did use YouTube videos to help with tuning and recommend listening to the video of the professional Hurdy Gurdy player using one of these models.

Had a great time putting this together, as a collector of musical instruments I thought this would be a great piece to add to my collection. Sound quality is ok, and it’s a little hard to play, but a great decoration nonetheless!

Gave this as a present to a friend who loves it! Easy to build and she uses it everyday on her desk to keep business cards in. Highly recommend!

This is by far the most rewarding model I\\\'ve built so far. This is my 8th model from UGears and everyone has been a joy. This specific model was certainly the most challenging, but if you take your time it\\\'s a beauty to behold. Now I just need to start thinking of a larger display shelf! Oh, this was my last completed model; currently working on the Big Rig Tractor.I\\\'ve updated with a few pictures of models I\\\'ve completed. I\\\'ve done others that I\\\'ve given away as gifts.

I bought this box for my wife. We, as a family, have built other UGears models. This one is particularly cute and my wife and son completed it together. Now, it sits on her table with some jewelry in it.My advice in building the models is to have plenty of wax. Moveable parts must be waxed to allow easy movement. The kit really never has enough wax for me so, I use cheap tea candles to fill the void. It works well.

I received this as a present from my children, who know of my love of clocks. It was the second u-gears model I have built, and I was aware that for optimum performance, the parts needed to be well waxed and not too tightly fitted. It is now complete, and although it struggles on occasion to maintain its rhythm, overall it is quite accurate, and I would recommend it to other lovers of u-gears models.

This was my third Ugears model and probably the one I enjoyed most. I did a Hurdy Gurdy and the TriMaran. This one had a lot of moving parts and the kit is very well engineered. The fit was perfect and the instructions clear. I did break one of the gears and Ugears replaced it at no cost. I was very impressed. I am getting a kit for my 93 year old father in Law. He likes mechanical things.

This was a great project to teach about the history of engines while bonding over the process of putting it together. Kept my kids off their phones for a few hours, which is a rare sight. We bought this after finishing the Dynameter. Always recommend.

I built this with my family, working together, think it was the first time I got them all to sit still and off the phones in ever. The projects are fun and make great display pieces. I would highly recommend these kits, and look forward to when my 7 year old grows into one of them. We built the Dynamometer first and this one was a great lesson in mechanics!

The Robot Factory was a challenging build for me. The main gear assembly was the most challenging. I just finished today after stopping work on it for almost a year and a half. A lot of the engines rubber bands had dried out as it has been sitting in my garage for quite some time. It was a lot of fun and I am pleased with the finished piece.
