After going through many archival photos, we have found this fun and astutely made transport device. The picture was of a person on a single wheel type of a vehicle who was looking very pleased with himself as he observed the curious device he was in. We couldn’t help but add this brilliant design to our collection!

How UGears Monowheel Works

UGears has remade this model in a skeletal version, without the armor-like outer shell, so there is easy access to the rubber bands should they be replaced. Not to mention you can see the wonderful way the mechanisms work as it rolls around! You can use Monowheel in two different ways, as it operates in two modes. One ensures the Monowheel’s smooth ride provided by a jolt of momentum, while the other one engages a halting mechanism, in case you don’t know what your monowheel to roll too far away.

I would recommend this to a friend!
This was really fun to build. I never build models but wanted something different for quarantine. This was cool to build and use. The instructions mention to use wax on moving parts. I didn’t do so and the model is still functional but I probably should have listened to the instructions. Everything was explained well for a novice; I will be ordering more.

This looks like a great set, with all its complexity, it seems that it is quite sturdy. I would have loved it, if UGears started focusing on unconventional means of transport even more in the future.

I love the visible gears and the whole idea!

I have been looking for a set similar to a Theater one, which is my favorite. The Monowheel looks ‘bulkier’ but I love the visible gears and the whole idea! Can’t wait to try it out!
