Dream Cabriolet VM-05

This was a fun and challenging project. Lots of parts. They all fit well. Rubber band powered. A real attention getter at my home.

Superbe montage , aucun problème, une fois terminé, impossible de faire avancer la voiture , trop d’engrenages je suppose.
Mais quoi qu’il en soit superbe modèle.

Ce n'est pas la première que je fais et je n' ai pas encore commencé, mais à chaque fois c'est un vrai plaisir de faire ces maquettes.

Very challenging, access to replacement parts would be nice. Some break easily!

In the process of assembling the car. I lost a couple of fingers a few years ago so therefore I do find some parts difficult to fit. Still I manage. This is my fifth model I believe and although I have had to request spare parts the fun of assembling them is great.
Very pleased with the models, very pleased with the service.

Superbe

Finished the car tonight. Looks good, but doesn’t go. It winds up ok, but just doesn’t go when you move the lever into position. I’ve held it up, and the wheels don’t spin at all.

Have assembled many wooden puzzle kits before. This one was unnecessarily frustrating to build. Locating parts on boards took inordinate amount time. Punching them out without breaking them, even after having cut the attachments with a fine blade was difficult and resulted in many broken pieces. The attachments were in the wrong places: at the end of a curved piiece that didn't need to be attached at that point rather than leaving it unattached there. The curved front of the hood broke almost immediately as i carefully bent it (I have never had that problem with other similar parts in other kits) so I just left the hood unfinished. Getting the gears to mesh properly was also difficult at times.
All in all, I did not like this kit - did not feel like a rewarding accomplishment when finished, more like a struggle to get to just finish it and put it at the back of my display of the 15 other kits I have assembled.

This one was a very intricate model, and lots of pieces. It is a very beautiful model when finished. Hood opens, doors open, windows roll up and down, and the trunk opens up. You can even jack it up and change a tire. Very nice kit.

Well designed and engineered model . 5 Stars to your Team .It took roughly a month to build. some frustrating assembly problems with getting the gears to rotate and final assembly rear wheels do not rotate. This is the third UGEARS model.that I have built. Excellent instructions and the video helps with the build.

Nachdem ich die Cobra gebaut habe musste es unbedingt das VM05 Cabriolet sein. Ein fantastischer Bausatz. Superfein gelasert. Absolut hochwertige Verarbeitung.
Eine Kleinigkeit habe ich doch die mir nicht gefallen hat. Die Zahnstocher zur Verarbeitung sind alle einzeln in Folie verschweißt.
Das muß nicht sein.
Ansonsten weiter so.

Absolutely perfect! Can't decide what model to do next. Roadster was the first, and this is the second, so i went straight to the deep end :D

Beautiful model, but my enjoyment was quickly replaced by heartbreak when, on its first wind-up, the engine crankshaft snapped and locked up the engine model. If I ever want it to drive, I’m going to have to cut the driveshaft to remove the engine model from the mechanism. Even if I got replacement parts, I can’t see any way to replace the broken pieces without dismantling (and probably breaking) the entire car. Such a letdown.

As always, very thoughtful and detailed design! Son has built quite a few of the Ugears models, but though he worked diligently on this one for almost a week — we just couldn’t get it to roll once complete. Also some of the piston heads seem to fall off with regularity…perhaps a friction issue? We are still generally pleased with the overall quality of product, this one was just a little bit of a let down at the end.

Würde allerdings nicht grade mit dem schwersten anfangen. Hatte vorher keine Erfahrung damit und fand es eher schwierig. Die Teile zerbrechen leicht. Es ist jedoch unglaublich intressant wie das alles zusammen gesetzt wird und es auch noch funktioniert! Ich werde jedenfalls noch weitere Modelle davon zusammen bauen. Für mich oder auch als Geschenk.
Es gibt ja reichlich Auswahl.

Fue mi primer modelo. Me ha encantado; es una obra de arre. Esteticamente creo que he logrado armarlo correctamente sin embargo su movilidad es nula. Tuve problemas con las bandas elasticas y he lijado y aplicado toda la cera posible no obstante no funciona en ningun sentido. De todos modos me gusta mucho como ha quedado aunque se pierde la gracia del movimiento.

This is a great model. It is fun to build and great to play with. This is my 5th model and I love it. Will buy more.

Dream Cabriolet was challenging and rewarding to build. BUT there were some frustrations that UGear could correct 1) Rubber bands were old, brittle and easily broken. They sent some new, but not quite enough 2) Toothpicks were too thin. I resorted to glue, and then bought some at grocery store which worked 3) In some cases, parts were all over the place. Instructions helped somewhat. Okay, but could have been better

My 8th model. Challenging and fulfilling, but a few frustrating bugs: I almost gave it 3 stars. 1) Rubber bands were old and brittle. Ugear sent me some new, but not enough. 2) Toothpicks were too thin. I used glue, and then bought some at grocery, which worked. 3) Locating pieces on the board often took lot of time. Seemingly no logic, just "maximizing board use" I guess. 4) Getting rubber bands into proper slots was nearly impossible. I devised my own tools with some success (fastening tool box to underbody was all but hopeless). Suggestions? Tools?

Although I enjoyed the Locomotive build this one was a bit different. I felt the directions where not as clear and more out aligned when dealing with connecting the rubber bands. I was disappointed.

Mycket fin och lätt modell , dock var bygg manualen lite missvisande på en del ställen men tänkte man till lite så fixade man det.

l recently got a model as a gift. I was excited to get on with it, an it wasn't long before it was completed.
I found instructions to be clear, concise and unambiguous. Picures that require no words.
I was hooked, so ordered another model - the cabriolet car. Many more parts and the same excellent quality. However , I found this one a bit more tricky and its not always suited to the larger hand/finger size. I managed to finish it and it looks great. It doesn't quite do all the movements that it should - particularly the driving forward/reverse, but all the windows go up and down , the seats move and doors, boot and bonnet flip open. But it can't go anywhere, so I was a bit disappointed with this final outcome. There is no way I'm going to try and sort it out because those features are set early in the build.
I'm still not sure if I would risk a third build too soon as they are a bit more expensive than what I am used to.

This was the x-mas present for my husband and I have to say, I had myself a lot of fun with him while building the car. Plenty of details to spend much of the free time without regret! We are ready now, it works, and I can't barely wait for the next Ugears project!!! Thank you!!
