Beautiful. Pieces fit together beautifully. Instructions clear. Such a clever mechanism. Just the right amount of challenge to assemble - took us a couple of hours.

Have not received my order. It has been three weeks and I have contacted them company I ordered from and still not received it.

Just finished building the Treasure Box. It appears to be a very impressive design. But the gearing system does not work well and it's very frustrating to try and make it work. The mesh between gears 18 and 23 keeps opening up and slipping. The plate 17 supports gear 23 but not 18. This allows too much relative motion and gear mesh jams up.

A bit tricky but worth the effort

This was so satisfying! We made the box as part of our date night over the past few weeks. Near the end we made a mistake and thought the whole project was doomed but we managed to retrace the build back to the mistake and correct it without breaking anything. Finally, we put the key in the lock and everything started moving so smoothly!

Someone said they used wax to help them push pins in, we sanded down a bit the sides when pushing felt too resistant.
And we used a lot more wax than what was in the box - we actually used the cheap little white candles you find in big shops in large packs. They're softer.

Got it for Christmas from my parents. It was rather hard to get the pecies to fit together properly (spaces were left etc.) The small pecies were ridiculously hard to get out of the wood. My thumbs were sore by the end of it. I could have overlooked this, but once it was finished, ( yes I did follow the instructions to a t) the lid opening mechanism didn't even work. The turning of the gears is supposed to turn the curved pecies that attached to the lid, but they didn't move. You can still lift the lid manually,but it was disappointing. The gears also get stuck and are hard to move. For $60 I expected better quality. If there weren't a mechanical aspect, then I would have been satisfied with it, but it is supposed to lift the lid. I'm not one to leave reviews like this, but I'm just disappointed and frankly, a little sad.

He disfrutado mucho con el montaje. Me pareció sencillo, aunque es mi primera experiencia. Recomendaría encerar casi todas las piezas, pues se facilita mucho su instalación y funcionamiento. Gracias por los repuestos. Seguir manteniendo este nivel.

I love this box. It was a little hard to build once my thumb started hurting, but other than that it was awesome to build

Hi! The idea and product are great! How it smells, how feels, thank you so much! Also it is a huge honor that it is Ukraine company.
But, we bought this treasure box and I trying to collect it. It is terrible, few timed I thought that we catch some fake product... I have proceeded strictly according to instructions, used wax and sandpaper, but no... Some details put on their place only after strong pushes, some breaks after few tries, but there were spare details and I understand why they needed.... I leave this process maybe 5-7 times and then return in one week because it cause very angry emotions... And I done it, today! But it does not work. The upper cover opens only manually and not smoothly going, I feel that something wrong there. Key which need to use didn't works, it cant roll in keyhole at all. I just want to save time and emotions of users, please look on other products of UGEARS, this box it terrible...

Outstanding model. While in a toy shop, I ran across Ugears while looking for something completely unrelated. I bought the Treasure Box and WOW, very happy I did. Went together as the instructions showed. I would definitely sand and wax all parts, it makes things run much smoother. Everyone that has seen it is amazed. Great work to Ugears and designers. I just finished the Amber Box and have the Model T and Safe on order. I am hooked. :)

Another five star review to add to the pile...

A great model, the mechanism works perfectly, though I have to add that I rather obsessively rubbed all surfaces that would potentially have gears or other surfaces moving against each other with a candle. All holes that had anything turning in them I lined using the shavings I got from rubbing with the candle.

This thing was really fun to build! And I still end up sitting down and opening and closing it just for fun.

On top of that, it's really pretty and it's really satisfying watching the gears moving when you open and close it.

It is by far one of the coolest kits I have ever assembled. It went together just as the instructions were written. I would suggest that anyone purchasing this or any other of their kits, take the extra time to sand and wax everything as per the instructions. You wont be disappointed.

This was my first Ugears project but it won't be my last. Everything fit together very cleanly and no parts broke as I push them from their boards. Besides waxing the gears and connected joints I found it very helpful to wax the small connecting pins which made them slide in much easier. It took me about 8 hours to assemble but I was being very careful and making sure everything was waxed well and I followed the detailed instructions. I found it to be a relaxing experience that even though at times it was challenging. The video that did a step by step assembly was very helpful. It was a fun and satisfying project!

I finished this the other night! It took me quite a long time to finish, since it was my first model of this type. I wanted to make sure the pips were sanded down and the gears were waxed, so that was a contributing factor.

I'm running into an issue, though, where I unlock it complerely, turn the key to make the top raise up, but the lid looks like it's sticking on the back right section. It needs a bit of a nudge to get going, but other than that, I love it! I'm a big fan of decorative, but functional, pieces, and the fact that this is a puzzle box is a plus. It's gorgeous and I really like it :) Definitely enjoyed this Christmas gift.

This is one of the best items offered by ugears. We need more stuff like this:
1. Secret hidden compartments.
2. Subtle ways to activate/access staff.
3. Art/decoration items - vases, boxes, painting frames, tea pots etc (I know that they all are, but I mean things with the main focus on pleasing the eye instead of being representations of larger things like cars or trains).

Not just for men these models. Finished it and glad to say it works!

A beautiful object in its own right however I got great pleasure out of gradually seeing the structural design develop as the build progressed. Great respect to your design team

I bought this as a Christmas present to myself and have just finished it. It was so fascinating for me to build and it's such a pretty box. I've just been given the "Aviator" model as a birthday present. Think that one's going to keep me busy for a while.

Beautiful when completed but I’m having trouble getting the lid to open. Gears are turning but not sure where the problem is.
Any ideas? Don’t want to take it apart!

The kit IS amazing, but don't think you won't need some tools unless you have small pincer like fingers. I didn't know there were some spares until I finished and wondered what I had missed assembling. I really needed one but managed to fake it since I didn't intend to go back four pages of disassembly to replace the broken part. The three stars, however, is for the poor mechanical operation. The lid will not open unless the front is lifted up and forward while. the key is being turned. The lid will then not close flat, the front needing to be pushed down. The completed kit looks very nice, but it will be for looks only. I don't want to show poor operation to my wife.

I'll echo the other comments that the engineering of this model is amazing - its a fun and challenging build. The pieces come off the templates fine (I did not break any) and there are a few extras. There is one place that it is not clear about where to use wax (where the lid turns) that I missed. The mechanics of the box are fantastic. I have other u gears models and this one was a little more of an effort to build - a good thing.

Just went through about half the instruction book. For a guy, who used to play with legos his whole childhood, ugears is probably the best thing that ever happened to me. It is definately more challenging than legos, but enjoyed every second of it so far.

This was our first kit to try, and enjoyed it very much. Easy to build and the finish is amazing. The secret locking mechanism was so great we had to play with a few times. Its a beautiful looking piece.
